Slip-lid boxes, SDS for short, or slip-lid boxes, as the name suggests, consist of a lid and an associated body with a base onto which the lid is placed. Very large boxes sometimes consist of three components. With these, a body is integrated between the base and the lid. Therefore, these boxes are usually referred to as body boxes.

Benefits and advantages of slip-lid boxes

Thanks to their stable shape and stronger cardboard, SDS offer special protection for the contents and have significantly better stacking properties than simple boxes, especially if the lid is the same height as the bottom part, as the sides are then twice as thick.

The constellation of the type of base material, thickness, dimensions, type of box construction and connections open up an infinite number of possible boxes.

In their application, slip-lid boxes offer you the following advantages, among others:

high protection against external influences (especially against the penetration of pointed products) resistant to environmental conditions (the cardboard absorbs moisture and releases it again, is oil and grease absorbent and scratch-resistant) high stability, i.e. also suitable for heavy products can be used immediately without further activities (except for flat-delivered SDS with plug-in or roll-up connection) simple resealability designed for multiple use relatively cost-effective even with smaller quantities (among other things because there are no tool costs)
